The diagnostic is a 60-minute 1:1 session where we work through your speaking, writing, reading, and listening to find exactly what is holding your score down. You leave with a ranked fix list — a specific, ordered list of what to work on first. Most students have been practicing the wrong thing. The diagnostic stops that immediately. It costs $25.

Most teachers focus on grammar drills and vocabulary. We focus on the structural and processing issues that actually cost you points — like whether your writing leads with the main idea or buries it, or whether your speaking has structure under time pressure. Every session targets the specific thing slowing you down, identified in your diagnostic.

Most students see measurable improvement within 3 to 5 sessions after the diagnostic. You book sessions as you need them, or set up a recurring monthly plan, both require a minimum of 4 sessions.

The diagnostic is $25. After that, sessions are $50 each for DET prep, $30 for Academic Tutoring, and $15 for Kids Classes (30-minute sessions for ages 5 to 8). Monthly plans are available at 4, 8, or 12 sessions per month, depending on how often you want to meet.

You will receive a confirmation email with a classroom link and login details for the LU English dashboard. The dashboard is where you will see your fix list after the session and book follow-up lessons.

Yes. You can browse our teachers and pick the one whose background and approach fit you best. After your diagnostic, follow-up lessons are scheduled with the teacher you choose.

Kids Classes are 30-minute live sessions for ages 5 to 8, focused on phonics, sounds, and early reading. We use songs, games, and simple structured practice — adapted to your child first language background. Best for kids who understand some English but need to build active speaking and reading.

Yes. If you cancel 24 hours or more before the session, you keep the credit and can use it for a makeup lesson the same month, or it deducts from your next invoice automatically. Cancellations within 24 hours forfeit the session.

Yes, conditionally. If you complete the homework, attend every scheduled lesson, and follow the prep plan we set after your diagnostic, and your DET score still has not improved in 8 weeks, we keep working at no extra cost. The guarantee depends on you doing the work — students who skip lessons, ignore the homework, or do not follow the plan are not covered.

All lessons are online through the LU English classroom. Students in China connect via Voov. You will need a stable internet connection, a working microphone, and somewhere quiet enough to focus for 30 or 60 minutes.
