1. Agreement to Terms

By booking a session, purchasing a course, or using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Services Provided

LU English provides Cognitive Retrieval Training — teaching children and young people how to access English under pressure. Our services include:

• • Diagnostic Assessment ($25): A 45-minute live assessment identifying specific retrieval blockers, with a written report and recommended pathway.
• • 1-on-1 Sessions ($45-60/hour): Live training on specific cognitive moves tailored to the student's needs.
• • Structured Courses ($299): Multi-week programs such as the Complete DET Course with weekly sessions and daily practice systems.
• • Parent Coaching: Guidance for parents to support practice between sessions.

3. Booking & Scheduling

Booking Sessions

All sessions are booked through our scheduling system at luenglish.com/courses. Payment is required at the time of booking.

Session Format

Sessions are conducted via video call. You are responsible for ensuring you have a stable internet connection, working camera and microphone, and a quiet environment for learning.

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

No-Shows

If you miss a scheduled session without notice, the session fee is forfeited. We will wait up to 10 minutes before marking a session as a no-show.

5. Session Recording

Sessions may be recorded for quality assurance, training, and safety purposes. By booking a session, you consent to this recording.

• • Recordings are used only for internal quality and safety purposes
• • Recordings are stored securely and deleted within 30 days
• • Recordings are never shared publicly or with third parties
• • You may request that a specific session not be recorded by notifying us in advance

6. Student & Parent Responsibilities

• • Arrive on time and prepared for sessions
• • Provide accurate information during assessments
• • Complete recommended practice between sessions
• • Treat the instructor with respect and professionalism
• • Ensure a suitable learning environment (quiet space, working technology)

For students under 18, a parent or guardian must provide consent and may be asked to participate in sessions or coaching.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, materials, methodologies, and resources provided by LU English are protected by copyright. This includes:

• • The Cognitive Retrieval Training methodology and 15 Mental Moves framework
• • Course materials, worksheets, and practice resources
• • Session content and teaching techniques
• • Website content, design, and branding

You may use materials for personal learning only. Sharing, redistributing, or commercial use is prohibited without written permission.

8. Results & Disclaimers

LU English provides expert instruction using proven methods. However, learning outcomes depend on individual effort, practice, and commitment.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LU English's total liability for any claims related to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service in question.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including lost opportunities or outcomes.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or website notice. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
