- • Lesson recordings: all live lessons are recorded for safety, quality checks, and dispute resolution.
- • Messages & notifications: booking confirmations, reminders, recording links.
- • Technical data: device, browser, OS, IP address, connection quality (to deliver lessons and troubleshoot).
- • Cookies & analytics: essential cookies plus Google Analytics for usage stats.

- • Maintain platform safety (especially for minors).

4) Data Location
Our primary servers are in Hong Kong. By using our service, you agree that your information may be stored and processed there.
5) Children's Privacy
- • Minimum age to register: 13.
- • Ages 13–15 require parental or guardian consent. Because credits are purchased by card, we rely on payment by a legal adult as the consent mechanism.
- • All lessons are recorded to protect students and teachers.
6) Cookies & Tracking
- • We use essential cookies for core site functions.
- • With consent, we use Google Analytics to understand site usage.
- • You can manage cookies in your browser; some features may not work if you disable them.
7) Third-Party Providers We Use
We share only what's needed to run the service:
- • Payment processors: Stripe, PayPal.
- • Video/classroom technology: 100ms and VooV (used for China).
- • Teachers: access to student names and lesson details to deliver lessons.
We don't allow third parties to use your data for their own marketing.
8) Marketing Emails (Optional)
If you opt in, we may send occasional product updates or promotions. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in the email or your account settings. Operational emails (receipts, reminders, recording links) will continue as they're needed to run the service.
9) Data Security
We use encryption, firewalls, access controls, and secure hosting to protect your information. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to keep data safe.
10) Data Breach Response
If we become aware of unauthorized access to personal data, we will act quickly to contain the issue, assess impact, and notify affected users when required by law and good practice.
11) Parental Rights
Parents or guardians of students aged 13–15 can contact us to review, update, or request deletion of their child's account information, subject to our need to keep certain records for legal or operational reasons.
12) Business Transfers
If LU English is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the new owner, who will continue to handle it under this policy.
