About LU English

We teach the skill that is limiting progress. Not a generic program.

LU English is a small teaching practice. We begin by understanding the learner's actual problem rather than assigning the same program to everyone. Our teachers identify the highest-priority issue, teach the correction directly, and check whether it holds.

Why we exist

Students kept arriving with the same problem.

They had practiced for months, but progress had stalled. Some knew their test score. Others knew the school subject or English skill that felt difficult. Few could explain exactly where the breakdown began.

That gap is why LU English exists. A score, grade, or repeated mistake shows what happened, but it does not always explain why. A teacher watching the student work can identify the pattern behind it.

So we built the practice around that observation. We identify the problem first, then teach — and we tell students plainly what we can and cannot change.

How we teach

Identify the problem

A teacher watches the student work and identifies the pattern.

Teach the correction

Direct instruction on the specific skill or habit — not a general course module.

Check whether it holds

We revisit the same skill later. If it slipped, we teach it again.
